This is a quick unboxing of the WD elements 2.5 external hard drive. Western Digital is the number 1 best selling hard drive brand in the world and it is a very reputable company in the hard drive business.

Quick specs:
- Serial Bus Transfer Rate (USB 2.0) – 480 Mb/s (Max)
- Capacity 2.5TB but only 2.27 TB is available to use!
- Compatible with Windows OS and requires reformatting for Mac OS X Tiger or Leopard
- Simple plug and play, no additional software required!

Absolutely no noise concerns.

The only Cons that I have is that it does not work with the PlayStation 3 (PS3)

As of today it been three weeks and working great.

Do you have a notebook with a faulty hard disk? Maybe you want to buy an external USB hard disk and install Windows onto that so you can boot from an external USB hard disk?

This video is not about how to make a USB drive to install Windows onto another system’s internal hard disk, it is about actually booting Windows from a USB disk.
IMPORTANT: You need to install the Windows AIK after you download the ISO file. Mount the ISO file using Virtual Cone Drive CD (or burn a DVD from the ISO) and run StartCD.exe. Then run Windows AIK Setup from the WAIK menu. You may need to also install .Net Framework and MSXML too depending on your system.
A USB flash (pen) drive can be used (16GB or larger) but it is very slow. An external USB hard disk is better and 4 to 5 times faster. This procedure also works with Vista or Server 2K8.
Once you have booted it to Windows, you cannot use it on a different system unless you ’sysprep’ it. Use the ’sysprep for new system’ Desktop icon if you need to boot it on a different system.
To improve the disk performance once booted, enable disk write caching for the USB disk in Device Manager (Policies tab – Better Performance).
DO NOT INSTALL the SP1 update if you have installed the first release onto your USB drive – the SP1 update will make the USB hard disk unbootable afterwards (BSOD). You can install most other hotfixes, updates and drivers though (but avoid mass storage/SATA/IDE/Hard Disk drivers).

This is me unboxing my maxtor 500GB External hard drive, thank fully this was a lot easier to open than the headset was, (this video was actually going to be posted before I did the head set one)

and I had a bit of a problem with the power supply, but in doing so I found a plug which will fit those in the UK and it also came with one to plug in if you live outside the UK

It also came with a 2GB Flash drive aswell, it was a good deal at £59.99, I certainly recommend it

To use it, just plug the power supply into a plug socket, and then plug the USB cable into the computer, and there you go it’s plug and play so need to install any drivers or software, and best of all no need to restart the computer LOL
