The following guide needs to be followed after you clone your HD:-
Any 2.5″ hard drive enclosure can be used – make sure it is SATA. As detailed in the video I used an existing external hard drive enclosure, as it had a SATA interface.
In this tutorial, I demonstrate how to upgrade your hard drive via cloning through a program called super duper. This will backup everything including your Macintosh HD. It will not backup your windows partition (BOOTCAMP)
For this tutorial, you only need the free version of super duper. No need to purchase the full version. (i do recommend purchasing the full version – This software is awesome)

You will also need an external enclosure to work with your new hard drive. Please look at my previous tutorial how to know which external enclosure you need to purcahse. Heres the link
Run Super Duper. Copy your existing hard drive in your mac, to your new external hard drive you made (the drive containing your hd upgrade) .
Takes about an hour and a half to two hours for the copying process. From there, swap the hard drives, Consult your mac manual how to remove and install your hard drive. Turn on your computer and thats it.
What is the best hard disk drive for backup with time machine, I have an iMac 27″ late 2009 and I want a 1 TB hard disk drive. Please leave a comment. Thank you for your help.
This tutorial shows you how to move / relocate your iPhoto library to an external hard drive to free up some space on your mac. At the conclusion of the tutorial, iPhoto will be able to store and update your photos from an external source rather than your internal hard drive. This is definitely useful if you have a Mac desktop.
This tutorial shows you how to move your iTunes library to an external hard drive. Please follow carefully. Please also make sure your iTunes library is actually working before you delete your files on your internal hard drive.
If you have an external hard drive and want another operating system installed and running on it, now you can! I show how you can install Mac OS X Snow Leopard on an external hard drive and boot-up right from the OS. I am demonstrating it on FireWire 800, but this can also work on FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 as well. If you have any concerns or problems, leave a comment below and I will be glad to help! Enjoy!

This tutorial shows you how to put your Snow Leopard installation DVD onto a USB thumb drive. When the drive is plugged in, it will run just as if you put the DVD inside your superdrive! This is a great way to digitize and archive your installation disks!
This tutorial teaches you how to take an old hard drive laying around your house and make use of it by turning it into an external hard drive. Once your former internal hard drive, you have to get an external enclosure. Ebay sells them pretty cheap.
Once you have your external enclosure, install your the hard drive into the enclosure and plug it into your Mac. From there you can grab all your old files if you like, but in this tutorial, I teach you how to thoroughly erase the hard drive with no detection of what was on it ever.
After you have erased the hard drive, you now can use it as a regular external hard drive. You just saved lots of money.
If you like to use it as a Time Machine drive, go ahead and go to spotlight, and type in time machine or select it from our dock and set up your new external hard drive with Time Machine.
