   yes maxtor and seagate have merged,
   however when i bought it, maxtor was its own company, and it is a maxtor hard drive

   thats a seafails …
   thats a seafails momentus. check my profile i smash a 500 gig maxtor and seafails are known to fail especially the replacements they send you lol

    How old is this Maxtor? Maxtor aren’t necessarily the champions of reliability .
