Tried the same … Tried the same thing on a newer 880gb freeagent and it gave me an error. Any idea why I received this error, “Partition failed with the error: File system formatter failed.” Thanks!
Bought this at Sitex Expo 2009. It costs SGD$109. I also did a tutorial for those who bought this and at the same time wanted to use it on a Mac.

After formatting the drive in Disk Utility, is there any of the garbage PC software left over or is it completely erased?
