Should i change my laptop’s hard disk or should i buy an external drive?

I have a Compaq CQ60 laptop that has a 160 GB harddrive. The processor is Duo Core 2.16Ghz and 2 mb RAM. Is it better for me to change the hard disk to a 320 or 500GB or is it better to get an external hard drive?

    with no second thought buy an external disk.why i am so sure because you can find
    many variates that they give you the upper hand.why is that it because you may find
    a hard disc from 320 to 1 tb that reaches 7500rpm/min that’s fast for a laptop and it
    gives you a great capacity trust me one this one i have a laptop too ^_^

    Hmm , based on this laptop design . I recommend for using 320 Gb . 500 Gb is causing more heat for your laptop board . It could damage the hardware.

    your RAM must checked first . You must change the RAM into CORSAIR VS4GSDSKIT667D2 – Memory SODIMM / Notebook. This has 16 ic each at good performance for large data feedback.It is two pieces in one pack ( 4Gb total).

    You will feel a speed laptop.

    alternative two : buy a 500 GB external driver, using a good one. I recommend it can guard on hardisc shock. ex :Hitachi simple tough USB 2.0, can protect hard drive drop even the external don’t crack after get hit by a car….

    My standard answer to my friends and clients is: always buy an external drive for a laptop or any portable computer.

    A portable computer has always the problem of internal space. So buying an external drive will give you the flexibility to have more storage space and privacy (viruses usually do not invade external drives since these are named d: e:, etcl to zzz:)

    Internal drives will always limit you to whatever drives are available to fit within your laptop. Especially so if your laptap is a branded one! The latter always require a brand name that cost more.
