My external hard disk drive is making a noise. Is that a problem?
I bought it 4 months ago and have all my movies and photos stored on it. It’s 160GB and starts making a noise everytime data is transferred. It still works perfectly but I’m just woried that I might loose all my stuff….It’s like a disk spinning type of noise
no problem at all. this is seen by the fact that it is making the noise when you are transferring files, it means it is working. Just like when you computer sometimes may make noise from time to time, it is just working its little heart out. Dont worry about it. I have two extrenal hard drives that i store my important files on like my photos and videos, and i trust them, they makes noise from time to time but that is because they are working !! hope it helps. x
no problem
it just means that it is operating
you should be happy that it is making noises
I have a WD Passport 160 GB and it does the noises from day one
