    @SkullGirl56 Yes. …
    @SkullGirl56 Yes. Any hard drive – just make sure you buy the correct case for the correct drive. There are two types of connections and two sizes. (2.5″ and 3.5″, IDE and SATA) In your case, you probably need a 3.5″ IDE like I am showing in this video.

    this video is so old I don’t even remember. I don’t even think I ever did have them on the network. just search for “NAS setup directions” and your OS on google. like: “NAS setup for Windows XP” and that should get you started.

    lol, I know. This …
    lol, I know. This was one of the first videos I made like 3 or 4 years ago before I even had a youtube account. That was back in the days when that 160GB hard drive was considered “massive” and “more then enough for the average person” – yet today in 2009, I have a 1TB drive and it is almost full! lol. I’m sure in 10 years we’ll be laughing harder when we are using 1 PettaByte drives!

    I have no clue what …
    I have no clue what your talking about! Are you sober? You don’t have to “pay bills” every time you “fill up” your “memory” I have no clue what your talking about!

    I suggest you talk to your ISP (Verizon, Comcast, etc) and ask them this question. Would you like me to google for the phone number for you?

  23. Comment by MCAxelman — March 30, 2010 at 9:47 am

    yea but you can …
    yea but you can only download a certain amount of memory then when youve download the certain amount you have to pay another bill to replenish that memory
    and im asking if you can use a harddrive to act as a addon for that memory.(sorry for all the questions)

    The things you are …
    The things you are downloading off the internet are stored on your computers hard drive. Having an extra hard drive like this would give you more space for those downloads. Nothing is stored in your modem or router. The files are saved either in your computers hard drive, or an external hard drive if connected.

    So your saying that …
    So your saying that say i had 10gigs of internet downloads and i connect like 160 gig hdd and downloaded some thing it would go on the hdd not the internet downloads thing?
