1) How can I achieve this?
2) If it could be used as server, How can we set up our own server?
Please help me.

Windows 7 responding too slow to read external 1Tb hard disk ?

March 14, 2011 in seagate external hard disk | Comments (3)

whenever i connect my external seagate 1TB hard disk my system is responding too slow. My system configuration is windows 7 ultimate 32 bit,AMD athlon 64×2 4200,2 Gb ddr2 316 Mhz,AsusTek m2n-mx motherboard,500 gb HDD,NVIDIA GEFORCE 9400 GT .i try to connect in all ports but no good result one of the port is read slowly copying 6.45 kb .plz help me to solve this problem

your entire system is full of slow parts. USB is no good for HDDs either.

your best option is to remove the drive from the case and connect it to the inside of the system. hard drives are easily the slowest part of any PC, so connecting them via a faster connection is the best bet.

the SeaGate 1TB external hard drive PROBLEM?

March 8, 2011 in seagate external hard disk | Comments (1)

I want to know how to restore a SeaGate Hard disk because I can’t see my files inside anymore.
Anybody knows how to restore an external hard disk, i dont know if this info is useless: P/N # or S/N too?

thanks

Is the drive showing in explorer?
If yes then run an antivirus scan.
If not then if might be failing or faulty.
Connect it to another computer and see.
Good luck.

Changing format in External Hard disk drive?

February 20, 2011 in seagate external hard disk | Comments (3)

I recently bought Sony Bravia EX710 TV which has the USB Port to play media files. I also have Seagate 1TB External Hard Disk Drive. When i contacted Sony Showroom to assist my in playing the media files from my External HDD, they checked it and informed me that my HDD is storing files in NTFS format and Sony Bravia TV will only play files stored in FAT32 format. They asked me to format my HDD and convert to FAT32. Is it advisable and safe to do so. I dont want my HDD to be unusable later.

Right click on the hard drive, click format, select FAT32 from the list, and format it. It will erase *ALL* files from the drive, but it won’t make it unusable.

Also note that FAT32 has file size limits, maximum file size can be 4GB, and there are other limitations.
