After I backup my photos onto my brand new Toshiba external hard disk, it began having a clicking sound. Now when I connect it via USB to my PC, it cant be detected! I can get it changed for a new one under the warranty but I have to first delete my photos on the disk. Now how can I ensure that the photos are deleted when the PC cant even detect the external disk drive?

Would appreciate anyone’s urgent help!

A clicking sound means there is physical damage. You can’t possibly get anything off the drive without putting it in a new case, which requires special tools.

I need 1 tera GB of an external hard disk. How much it will cost if I buy a Western Digital or C-gate? Which are the best external hard disk drives to buy?

I couldn’t find a video on the Internet anywhere showing how to take HP’s SimpleSave Desktop Hard Drive apart so you can use it as a bare-bones SATA drive. This is a video of exactly that, and should get rid of that nasty VirtualCD partition that runs the HP software automatically.
