Has anyone had any problems with the Western Digital ‘Elements’ 1 TB external hard drive? ?

I am about to buy one, except i have been hearing rumours that the hard drives sometimes break down. Can anyone confirm that?

western digital external hds are JUNK

I have had multiple problems with western digital hard drive products, if I were you I would not buy wd…but in general if you shop a good brand and give proper treatment, external hard drives will last a fair bit and are quite useful.

    i have a western digital 250 gb external that took a crap right after the warranty expired and lost all my stuff. in my opinion WD is crap. i have also heard bad stuff about WD products.
